cosmic tuesday is a series of events for experimental and improvised music that was initiated in 2023 by teleport collective and rhiz, a vienna based underground club.
each event starts with a warm-up set played by teleport collective and featured the band's own compositions. before the start of the second set, the band welcomed a special guest on stage and introduced a theme, usually related to astronomy and space travel. what follows is the core of cosmic tuesday: a 50-minute performance by an otherwise never-before-seen constellation of musicians, completely unrehearsed, making music out of the moment and diving into the free fall of improvisation. the stage design and lighting matches the cosmic themes and supports the captivating atmosphere.
the artists introduced in the course of this series of events were mona matbou riahi, flora geißelbrecht, gabriel moraes, vicy pfeil, rui aziz, millycent, nika bauman and anna tsombanis.
